Hi everyone, It has been quite a while since I've posted on here. I've sporadically checked posts and have prayed for many of you on this site, but now I am here asking for your prayers. I have experienced two miscarriages in the last year. DH and I have struggled through the emotions as all of you are doing and are now considering trying again for a successful pregnancy. In the meantime we have started the adoption process and are hoping to add to our family through the blessing of adoption as well. Lately, I've had dreams of having two children very close in age. I'm not sure exactly what that means....
So, I ask for your prayers...that we are doing this in God's time and also for your advice? What can I do to prepare my body for pregnancy? The last two pregnancies have been surprises (we didn't even think we could GET pregnant...so even though we never met our angel it was an incredible blessing) Any advice is welcomed!
Thanks! Also, if you are interested in checking out our adoption journey I do have a blog going for that. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here though?! A lot of sites frown on that.

I took herbal supplements and it helped get all my hormone levels back on track. Prayers are with you, and by all means post up your blog so I can follow along. Bethany

I have been taking prenatal vitamins and trying to get myself in the best shape I physically can. I would also be interested in following your blog. I also have a blog about my rollercoaster journey of TTC again. It's private, but if anyone is interested in following it, e-mail me at tabbie963@gmail.com
Best of luck to you Jessi and I'm sending prayers and baby dust your way!

Hi Jessi,
I too suffered two miscarriages last year and I am 37 about to turn 38. I am currently 16 weeks and 3 days pregnant. I am not a religious person, but I can offer you what I did that was helpful for me.
-I never stopped taking prenatal vitamins along with extra 800 mg folic acid recommended by my specialist. -I hadn't had a drop of coffee/ alcohol since first trying to have the baby last year. -I trie to eat balance meal with loads of fruit, protein, vegetables and try to avoid any empty calorie since last year. -After my 2nd miscarriage, I went to see Chinese Dr. and got regular accupuncture and herbal medicine. I think it made me feel proactive and actually relaxed me a bit. It was like a meditation of putting my body together after such tremendous losses. -I tried to laugh somehow and although sex was different when you are trying to conceive, my husband and I tried to enjoy each other's company. -We always tried to conceive in the morning. Apparently, it's maximizing men's sperm. -I also tried to lift my legs up for 15 mins. after trying to conceive. -I also bought myself a automated ovulation screen monitor that told me when I am ovulating. I am very regular, but I was surprised to find out I ovulated 3 days later than my calendar using the maching.
I hope this is not too much information. I think adoption is wonderful as well. No matter how we go about it, if our intent is to become a parent, I am sure there will be a way for us to become one.
Best of luck to your journey, and keep your spirits up!

Jessi,
How exciting to be persuing adoption, as that is wonderful! I have a dear friend who received her miracle baby through adoption after 11 long years :)
As for your blog, do share the link here, as we all want to support you in your journey. This community is much like family...we want to cheer you on!
How to prepare your body for pregnancy? That is a tough question, as I don't know that there are proven wrongs or rights. I did give up caffeine, don't drink much alcohol, try to eat balanced meals, work out and stay in shape, YOGA, taking time for myself and just trying to stay positive.
AND
I saught the advice of an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) who checked my antibodies, blood levels and even auto immune screens. I learned that my Rubella level was low and had to follow up with an MMR booster shot. Also, I had an SHG (sonohysterogram) which is a saline ultrasound in 3-D to look at my uterus and my uterine lining. And, my hubby did a sperm analysis.
OB's are wonderful people, but I would highly suggest you see an RE if you have not already. They want to get to the root of why we suffer loss and do all they can to prevent it from happening.
Again, I think adoption is fabulous! I want to do the same myself, but my husband is not there yet. So, we are persuing assisted reproductive therapy with our RE. Whatever happens, just know that you WILL be a Mother and that is all that matters.
Much Love and please visit my blog persuitofourfairytale.blogspot.com feel free to ask me any questions :)
PS if you haven't already had your FSH and AMH levels checked it might be a good idea to do so, as well as see if you have a clotting disorder or your progesterone is low...both quick fixes.

Thank you everybody for the encouragement and advice! I have gone back to the vitamins and am trying my hardest to stay away from the caffeine. It's hard. After my 2nd m/c I gave up on the need to give it up, but now that we are trying again I'm working on it. I am working out more to keep myself healthy and have been eating better than I have in quite some time (more veggies especially). What a journey this has been. For those of you who wanted to follow our adoption journey the site is: www.adoptionfor.us It hasn't been updated in a month or so because we've not had any new news, but hopefully there will be more on there soon. Thanks again!
